Skilled Arbitration Services to Resolve Virtually Any Dispute

Mr. Pereyra-Suarez has more than three decades of arbitration, mediation, litigation and client counseling experience. He is a member of the health care, commercial, and large complex case panels of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). He has acted as an individual arbitrator and on three-arbitrator panels, including as chair, in connection with significant multi-million dollar disputes and notable "high-stakes" matters.

As an attorney, he has served as a litigation partner in two national law firms, as a federal prosecutor in Los Angeles, and as a trial and appellate attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division. He arbitrates disputes through the AAA and on an ad hoc basis in cases involving:

Many contracts mandate that disputes be settled through binding arbitration. These contracts often specify a jurisdiction and location of the arbitration, as well as other requirements such as the number of arbitrators and how they will be chosen, or that they must be referred through the American Arbitration Association.

Unlike in litigation, which results in a public record, arbitration proceedings can be kept confidential, including any award and the amount. Confidentiality is a significant benefit when disputes arise involving sensitive or proprietary information.

Arbitration may limit expensive and onerous discovery, often proceeding without depositions. The rules of evidence can be less restrictive than is permitted in traditional litigation, and can be stipulated in the original contract or negotiated at the time of arbitration.

Resolving Disputes Through Mediation

In mediation, a neutral third party facilitates communication and negotiation as the parties seek to reach a voluntary agreement. Mediation can be used prior to or even during arbitration or litigation.

One of the primary benefits to mediation is that it allows the parties to craft their own resolution, whether or not that resolution would be something a court could order. Solutions parties reach on their own are often more creative than those suggested by others or ordered by a court. This leads to greater buy-in from the parties, which makes it more likely they will abide by the agreement.

Whether you are an individual, a corporation, a party to an international joint venture, a health care industry professional, or an attorney seeking a potential class of plaintiffs, our services may be of benefit to you. We invite you to contact us to discuss our alternative dispute resolution services.
